Senior Support Worker – Accomodation Based

Hours: Flexible / Permanent

Salary: £11.00 to £12.87 (17% enhancement at weekends)

Sounds like you? Then you would be a highly valuable member of the Bedfordshire Supported Housing team.

Your role will involve working in an accommodation based unit, taking the lead in providing practical & emotional support to our service users, who live either on their own with 1:1 staff support or in small group settings. 

Our service users are aged 18+ with a range of conditions, such as:

  • Mental health problems
  • Physical health issues
  • Learning disabilities

 

You’ll make a huge difference to someone’s daily life by aiding them in basic duties, including:

  • Supporting individuals to access their community
  • Accompanying them to appointments
  • Assisting them with personal care & household tasks e.g. helping with meds, preparing meals
  • developing/reviewing care plans & risk assessments
  • leading/attending review meetings, communicating with external health professionals etc.

All that we require from you is that you have experience & knowledge caring for people with complex mental health needs & challenging behaviour. Ideally, you will have a NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care. You will need to possess great management skills, with good written/verbal communication. Applications from social care graduates are welcome. FULL DRIVING LICENSE IS ADVANTAGEOUS.
