The Management Team

The Registered Manager for Francis House Care Home, Rutland Road Care Home and Francis House Homecare (Domiciliary Care) is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a qualification in management.

Our registered care homes are supported daily by a Home Manager and Senior Support Worker who work under the direction of the Registered Manager. Both of whom have extensive experience in care and are qualified to level 5 in Leadership in Health and Social Care.

Our supported accommodation units and specialist units are led by House Leads and Senior Support Workers who provide daily management and leadership.  All of whom bring a wealth of experience and leadership from various health and social care settings.

Training Development

At BSH we believe that investing in training and developing a skilled workforce pays dividends. Our training programme reflects the skills required to maintain competence and the ability to deliver a quality service. The training that we organise very much reflects the needs of our service users. We have a blended approach to learning which consists of e-learning, face to face, continual assessment and evidence gathering. All staff are expected to complete mandatory training prior to starting work and this is updated yearly.

Our staff are also expected to complete a wide range of training which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Care Certificate (for those new to care)
  • Dementia care
  • End of life care
  • Diabetes management
  • PEG
  • The Safe-handling and management of medication
  • Safeguarding and depravation of liberty
  • Customer service

Our staff are aided in developing their skills and education;

All our support staff are encouraged to complete QCF Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care.

Management Skills

Most of our management team have started in junior roles, and have progressed and developed through the organisation. That way we gain a group of individuals who, not only, share our values but live them every day.

We believe that investing and nurturing ‘home grown’ talent fosters the right characteristics and behaviours required for a management role in BSH. To enable this we provide mentoring, access to 360 degree management assessment programmes and further education; the vast majority of our managers have completed their QCF level 5 in Leadership and Management or are educated to degree level.

Bespoke Training Programme

At BSH we have developed our own training programme which focuses on the needs of our service users. Our managers consist of qualified trainers whom, with support from the registered manager, whom also has extensive mental health nursing experience, have developed bespoke training courses on various subjects including:
