No matter whether your loved one is being discharged from hospital, or family circumstances have changed quickly, we can respond quickly. Depending on the urgency of the care being arranged & the care required, our live-in care services can be arranged within a few days up to 2 weeks. However, arranging live-in care isn’t a process that should be rushed – we’ll work with you to make sure we get it right.

How much does live-in care costs?

Live-in care with Francis House Homecare starts from only £1050 a week, with no hidden charges for weekends or holidays. This is much lower than the average cost of live-in care in the UK. We offer tailored care packages with various payment plans to suit you, with costs varying depending on the intensity of the care required.

How long does the carer stay at a time?

Typically, carers stay for 3-4 weeks at a time, then take a break. During that time, we’ll arrange for another carer to step in (one, that has been approved by you & your family). This is cover  usually for a period of 1-2 weeks.

Do you work with male live-in carers?

Yes, we work with a huge range of people, from all walks of life. Our carers are of various ages, genders, levels of education, interests & so on. To us, the thing we care about the most is that they’re exceptional at their job & provide the best levels of care that they can, all from the heart. Also, your loved one & yourself have a say in the carer you select.

When do live-in carers provide support?

Live-in carers offer 24-hour care – even if it means getting up in the middle of the night. Our carers are skilled & trained to help create routines & will go above & beyond to provide emotional & physical support all day & night…a sign will never be in sight!

What facilities will the carer need?

Your home carer will need a spare room, expecting a similar accommodation as if they’re renting a room. You may be eligible for funds of up to £1,500 for home adaptations. Learn more here >>

Can I choose & meet my carer before they arrive?

Of course! As our carers are local to Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire, a meeting with your carer can be arranged, before the care is put into place. You can request a full profile report before confirming your carer. We put every bit of effort into carefully hand-picking the right carer for you, based on your needs, interests, language etc.

Can I apply for funding to help pay for care?

There are various ways of claiming benefits/funding, whether it be through local authorities, the NHS, home adaptation funding, equity release & so forth. Read our blog on our 4-step plan to pay for care here >>
