Many people we work with choose to live independently at home but require regular care support to make this possible. Francis House Homecare are long-time established providers of home care visits in Bedfordshire, and our carers work with a range of adults from 18 through to those in their eighties and nineties.
Our home care visits are created with clients and are personalised to their needs. As a person-centred service the welfare of our clients is always our priority, and our carers take pride in offering only the best support. We carry out a risk assessment in the initial stages of creating a care plan and this is regularly updated.
Home care visits, or domiciliary care is provided by trained care professionals who have the experience to be able to adapt their skills to a full range of caring environments. Francis House clients are never ‘a bundle of symptoms’ to us; instead, we treat them as fully autonomous individuals to be accorded the dignity, respect, and empathy we would extend to anyone.
We provide scheduled weekly visits, tailored to the needs of our clients. These may involve light cleaning duties, food preparation, accompanied shopping trips, medication monitoring or personal care. Where there is a specific need – such as overnight attendance for an elderly relative – Francis House Homecare can provide a sitting service.
Person-centred care encourages those in need of care to take decisions about the kind of care they require. Our carers will also work closely with family or friends when creating a care package. The time is taken to learn about the people we work with. We like to hear about their professional lives, the plans they have for the future, and the unique contribution they make to those around them.
The Francis House Homecare team find that the most successful care occurs when clients help to define the care they need. We listen to what they have to say, respect their opinions, and design care packages that meet their needs.
Francis House Homecare services are designed to support adults who wish to retain their independence and need care support in order to do so. All our services are delivered by trained carers. Where specialist care for dementia, medication management or stoma care is required, the carers provided will have specialist training and professional experience.
